Layouts

Evening all, thought you might like to see the layouts that I did at the weekend, the photos on both were taken on my weekend away with Jules and Denny last year.

Both LO's were done with Basic Grey Urban Couture which was the very first Basic Grey collection that I bought and I am pleased to say that I have nearly used it all up (woo hoo - get me using up more old stash)!! Two of the large flowers on the pages were cut from a sheet of paper and mounted on foam pads to raise them up, all three flowers were highlighed with diamond glaze in the centre to add the effect of little water droplets. The title on Weekend Away is done with Basic Grey letters and on The Cottage I used some chipboard letters from an old QVC kit. All I need to add to both LO's now is a little bit of journalling.

Am now in the process of having yet another tidy up and re-jig of the PPoC. Will add so me pictures when its done. :)

Thanks for looking............Jane x x

Out for a Sunday Stroll

As today was a dry and bright day we decided to take Daisy out for a nice long walk by the river. Thought it would do her and us good to get out and get some air, plus it was a chance for me to take some more photos. One day I plan to do an album of London and where we live.

We took our usual route and headed up Mill Street to Bermondsey Wall East and then walked across the little bridge by the houseboats to Butlers Wharf. We walked along past all the restaurants and bars towards Tower Bridge which has recently been cleaned and is now looking rather good having been covered in scaffolding for months. Below are a couple of the pics I took today, the houseboats have been moored on that part of the river for many years now and will hopefully stay there for many more years to come.

We carried on walking as far as Hays Galleria before heading back towards home. We stopped off in M&S to get some soup for lunch.

The rest of the day has been spent relaxing indoors, I have been playing in the PPoC and Tom has been watching TV.

So here we are Sunday evening again, Monday is almost upon us again. Oh well, not long till next weekend I suppose!! :)

Have a good week everyone, Jane x x

Saturday is for Shopping

Just before Christmas Tom took me to Artbase for a few supplies which resulted in me filling my loyalty card which I decided not to spend at the time and to save for the New Year. As some of you may know I am not so good at holding on to things like that and for the last couple of weeks it has been burning a great big hole in my pocket so I decided that the time had come to go and spend it!!

As Tom was working I made plans to take myself to Artbase via public transport and in the midst of my googling train times etc I remembered that I had heard of another shop in the same area so I set about investigating the possibility of going to both. A few searches later I found the website for Imagine That Papercrafts in Upminster and worked out a route that would allow me to go to both!! Yay two scrapping shops in one day - what more could a girl ask for.

I ended up taking my friend Cath with me as she is a newbie to scrapping and was keen to add to her stash supplies. We went to Imagine That first and were wowed by the light, bright and airy shop (a return visit is already planned!!). There was so much stash to choose from, loads of papers, cardstock and embellishments plus the walls and shelves were adorned with samples to inspire you. We spent quite a while there before heading for the bus to take us to Artbase where again we obsessed over all the lovely papers and other scrapping supplies. I managed to spend my loyalty card with no problem (no surprise there then!) and am now nicely stocked up all on things stash although if you gave me the chance to go again today I would jump at it!!

So what did I buy??? Well it was mostly paper as I am a bit of a paper junkie but I got quite a bit of stuff I had not seen before including some of the new Basic Grey Origins. I also got cardstock, herma, embellishments to match the paper, a couple of pokey tools and some inkpads. I have attached a couple of photos to show you exactly what I bought, hopefully it wont be too long before I can show you some pics of what I have created with it.

Scrapping and Blogging

Its Sunday evening again, the weekend is nearly over so its time to update the blog and upload some LO's.

We have had a lovely weekend, yesterday our friends Gina and Ian from Warrington came to London for the boat show. They came and stayed overnight with us and we had great fun chatting and looking at G&I's holiday photos (they went on a Caribbean cruise for Christmas and New Year). It was lovely to see them again and we are already looking forward to seeing them in May when we go to see Peter Kay at the M.E.N with them.

Today has been another fairly lazy day. Tom went to work this morning and so I pottered around doing some odd jobs around the house, we have both had a wardrobe clear out so there is now a nice big bag of stuff for the charity shop. I have also got some bits I need to put on Ebay, so note to self to remember to do that this week!! This afternoon we decided to go to Del Aziz for a late brunch/lunch today, it was lovey and was a nice treat.

I have been scrapping again today and have now managed to finish the canvas that I showed you pictures of on the last post....pictures of all below :)

Tom and Daisy...

These pictures were taken on a day at the seaside last summer. I have used a sheet of Heidi Swapp paper that I have had for AGES for this LO. All the circles were cut on the Cricut using the George cartidge and the titles are Papermania stickers. Finally I added a few odd buttons on the flourish down the side of the paper to add a bit of dimesion.

City Sights...

For this LO I have used some pictures that were taken on a visit to Oxford last year. The papers are from a kit from Costco and the title is American Craft chipboard Thickers (sorry I dont know the name of the font). The chipboard circle in the middle is again something thats been in my stash for a while.

Las Vegas Canvas....

Following on from the comments you left last week I have added a title to the canvas. It took me a while to think of something but in the end I opted for something simple and straight to the point! All I need to do now is hang it on the wall in the PPoC.

Can I please claim full point for sticking to New Year resolutions......scrapping on a regular basis, using old stash, using the Cricut and keeping the blog updated!! LOL

Love and hugs, Jane x x x x

Chilled Out Sunday

Well today has been another day of not doing much at all, I just loved lazy chilled out Sundays!

The snow and ice have now started to melt which is great news, and despite several threats of more snow we have had none. Fingers crossed it stays that way. The snow is very nice to look at but after a couple of days the novelty wears off and the reality of having to go to work takes over. I am really not a Winter girl and right now I am longing for the long hot days of Summer.........

Crafting has been the word of the day (again) and urged on by Sarah I made some cards this morning using old stash and scraps. My card making is not brilliant, I really need to look at other blogs to get some inspiration and ideas on making better cards. Anyway have taken a photo for you of what I made today...

I have also done one LO today, its another one of Daisy. The photos are of her in her first dog show which was part of the Bermondsey Street Festival last September. She didnt win anything but I had told her before that its the taking part that counts!! LOL

For this LO I used Cordinations cardstock and Imaginenesce paper which I cut down and then added a scalloped border to using my Martha Stewart double scallop punch. The title is American Crafts Showbox Glitter Thickers and the flower embellishments at the bottom are Papermania. Finally I added some heart and star shaped buttons that I bought for £1 a pack in The Works ages ago. Behind the center photo is Daisy's contestant number card

For ages now I have wanted to do a canvas to go on the wall in the PPoC. I made a start on it yesterday by chalking around the edge of the canvas before covering it in a layer of sparkle Mod Podge which I also used to attach the paper which is Fancy Pants. Once it was dry I added the photo and a large bloom. I am not sure if it needs any more embellishments or even a title......what do you think? Please let me know...

As always thanks for looking and hope you like the new look I have given my blog. :)

Its So Cold

........................so I am staying indoors to scrap!

Due to the snow, ice and freezing temperatures we made a wise decision to stay at home in the warm this weekend. I did a little menu planning and then went to Waitrose to get the supplies that we needed to create some yummy and warming dinners.

As I am typing this entry there is a lovely sausage casserole simmering away in the slo-cooker.
Anyway all this cold weather has paid dividends to my crafting in that I have spent another day in the PPoC. Today I have made a start on a canvas which is something I have wanted to do for ages and I have done another 3 LO's.....a couple of which I have uploaded for you to see.

The first one is of photos I took out of the plane window as we left Las Vegas last year. For this LO I have used some scraps of patterned paper (I think its MME) and white cardstock. The title was cut on the circut using the George font. I inked the edges of the paper and cardstock before sticking it all down. The pearl swirl is from prima and the ribbon was from a gift I was given some years ago. Finally I added some strips of green pearls to the ribbon.

The next LO is of Daisy was the photo was taken last year after she had her op, hence the title of Poorly Pup!!

Again I have used white cardstock as the base. The papers, the flower and the border on this LO are Basic Grey Urban Praerie, the title is American Crafts Thickers and the journalling card is MME. Finally I added a bit of bling just to brighten and lift the LO.

Thanks for looking and keep warm everyone.....

Hello Again.....

As promised I am blogging again to post pictures of some of the LO's I completed at the weekend. They are from our trip to Vegas last year....
The photos on this LO were all taken during the light show at Freemont Street in Downtown Vegas. I used spotted Bazzil as the base and then cut some We R Memory Keepers White Out paper which I used to overlap the photos. The title is American Crafts puffy thickers and the small gems along the swirls of paper were attached with my bejeweller.

Tom and Friends is a simple LO done using just plain and shaped cardstock. The 'Tom' in the title was cut on my Cricut using the Stamped cartridge and the 'and Friends' is a rub on that I have had in my stash for ages. The swirl was also cut on the Cricut, using the Home accents cartridge. Finally I added some buttons to embellish the bottom of the scalloped circle.
Finally another simple LO of me outside my fave American shop! Again I just used cardstock, the grey cardstock was sanded round the edges. I have also used some black ric-rak, buttons and a card from the shop, the title is again done with American Crafts Thickers. There is some journalling around the edge that tells of my love of A&F.
Am hoping to get some more scrapping done this week, if I do I will be sure to photograph my work to show you all.
Thanks for looking, Jane x x
