Scrapping Sunday...

Nothing much planned here today so I decided to spend some time in my room and do some scrapping, after all I think you I am supposed to use all the paper and stash that I have!! I managed 3 layouts, not bad for an afternoons work...

Scrapping Heaven..

This layout was inspired by Sarah's (Butterbee)Cupcake one which was based on a Basic Grey page map thingy! I used brown bazzil cardstock as the base and then using my cricut I cut a sheet of Prima Sigh paper into a large circle. I added a strip of white bazzil with a scalloped edge at the bottom which I embellished with some ric-rac, ribbon and a ribbon slide. The large chipboard swirl in the top right hand corner is from Bo Bunny and I inked it up with 2 different colour brown inks. The title is done with foam and felt American Crafts Thickers.

Autumn Memories..

This layout was completed using a Total Papercrafts kit (I just love these kits and have re-subscribed after a short break from them) from October last year, the papers and embellishments are all Pink Paislee, the 2 flourishes in the corners were cut from the Accent Essentials cricut cartridge, the rub on sentiment is something I have had for ages, when I found it I knew it was perfect for this LO.

Sunday Lunch..

For this layout I used a page maps sketch and basic Grey Origins paper and tags. The doodles are making Memories rub-ons and the title is Papermania stickers.

All the photos on these layouts were taken on my weekend away with Jules and Denny last October.

Hope everyone else has had a good weekend....

Wedding Planning

Yesterday Tom and I went to Bluewater to do some shopping and to meet up with my sister, Steve and George. Its something we planned a couple of weeks ago but was slightly more important now as I wanted to show my sis a couple of 'wedding' outfits I had found.

We looked at dresses in Oriental Pearl but as nice as they were they were, they really were not me, I am not a dress person and I can honestly say that I think the last time I wore a dress was on my wedding day which was nearly 8 years ago! So we went to Monsoon to look at the tunic I had found on-line and we both agreed that in real life it was even more beautiful and very me indeed. I soon as I tried it on I knew it was what I wanted, the original plan was to wear it with trousers but its actually long enough for me to wear as a dress......if the link works there is a picture of it below.

I will still look for a pair of trousers to go with it that way I will have a couple of options on what to wear depending on how I feel on the day. Shoes, bag and undies still need to be thought of too. Of course Tom will also need an outfit......but his cann wait till mine is all sorted - LOL!!!

As yet we have not booked a chapel or decided on what day we will do our vow renewal but we will do that soon as its something that we need to get booked before we can plan any shows or trips that we may want to do while we are away.

The shopping trip was followed by all of us going for tapas in La Tasca....very nice indeed. Cant beat tapas and a glass of red wine :)

So the planning has started, watch this space for more updates.

ETA: I cant get the link to work so if you want to see what I bought you will need to copy and paste the link - sorry!!

A Little Update

Evening all and yay to tomorrow being Friday - bring on the weekend!! Have had a busy couple of weeks, but most of it has been fun so I am not complaining. Looking forward to some shopping with my sister on Saturday followed by some time relaxing and chilling out with Tom on Sunday.

Last weekend Tom and I had a couple of very special visitors, Ray and Michele came from Scotland to spend the weekend with us in London. Jules also joined us on Saturday and we all went for a walk along the river to Borough Market(somewhere I have wanted to show R&M for ages)on the way home we stopped at The Woolpack in Bermondsey Street for some lunch and a drink or two. Its a lovely pub and is somewhere DH and I will be returning to, espcecially in the Summer as they have a dog friendly garden so we will be able to take Daisy with us.

The rest of the weekend was spent relaxing, chatting, eating and drinking and before we knew it we were heading to Stansted Airport to drop our guests off for their flight home. We really enjoyed having Michele and Ray come to stay and we hope they enjoyed the visit as much as we did, hopefully they will come back soon. :)

Oh and as last Sunday was Valentines Day I surprised Tom with a very special card that asked him if he would marry me again to which he said YES!! So after a big sigh of relief from me we agreed to re-new our wedding vows in Las Vegas - watch this space for more details of chapels, themes, outfits etc.

As promised in one of my previous posts I am attaching a picture of the birthday card I made for Darcy.....

Anyway will try and update the blog again this weekend, am planning on some crafting so I may even have a LO or two to show you.

Bye for now, love Jane x x

A Womans Work is Never Done

Well at least this weekend anyway, I seem to have done more HW than anything else over the last few day. So why all the cleaning I hear you asking?? Well the reason is DH and I are expecting a couple of very special guests next weekend so while he has been at work I have been busy cleaning and tidying up and making sure our home is nice and presentable. Just about everything has been washed, polished and hoovered including the bathroom ceiling!! We are both looking forward to having Ray and Michele come and stay, it will be lovely to see them both.

Anyway despite all the hard work I have managed to do a little crafting this weekend, I completed one LO and one card. There is a pic of the LO below but you will have to wait until later this week to see the card as its for a friend who sometimes checks this blog out - cant have her seeing the card until she opens it. The LO is of another pic of DH and me in Vegas last year, it was taken in front of the fountains outside the Wynn hotel. I based the LO on a Page Maps sketch by Becky Fleck and I have used Core'dinations and Bazzil cardstock, Basic Grey Mellow papers and two types of American Crafts Thickers for the title. Finally I added a few paper blooms that were in my stash and matched perfectly.

Below are a few new pics of the PPoC. I have been playing around with my desk and how I have my stash arranged around me and I finally think I have it in a way that makes the most of the space but still allows me easy access to all my stuff. Please ignore the walls, they are not yet finished, they have just had a rough coat of white emulsion to keep the room clean and bright looking until I decide what wallpaper or paint I want.

A Few More Cards and Another Layout

Following a re-arrange of the PPoC I have re-discovered the joys of my pro-markers and copics hence an abundance of stamped images to colour in and turn into cards. This weekend just gone I managed to make 5 more cards, I have attached a photo of them for you to see. My stock of cards is now increasing, so I have no excuse for missing anyones birthday this year!

I also managed to finish a LO that I started last week, its another photo from my weekend away with Jules and Denny and again I have used Basic Grey Urban Couture. Nothing too invloved with this LO, just some simple layering of paper and cardstock embellished with brads, a bloom and a piece of twill ribbon. The word Kent is done with American Crafts chipboard Thickers.

Last week I heard the sad news that my local shop, Puffin Crafts, are closing down. Puffin was the very first craft shop that I found when I first started scrapping, in fact they opened just a few weeks after I discovered this wonderful hobby and if it was not for them I probably would have not have stuck with scrapping and card making as much as I did. I used to get a lot of inspiration from Jayne and Kim and I often spent a fair bit of my spare time (and money) in the shop. Over the years I have made some fab friends there, hopefully we will all stay in touch and carry on sharing our creations.

Luv Jane x
