Its a Lovely Long Weekend

I really can't belive we are now enjoying the last bank holiday weekend of the year before Christmas, this year is really flying past! Its been an extra long weekend for me as I took Friday off work as annual leave and as a treat Tom and I took Scarlett to the Wildwood wildlife park in Herne, Kent. The weather was better than we had originally expected but it was still damp and a little chilly so we didnt get to see all the animals but we did meet up with Clare and Stan which was a real treat for Scarlett as she has been asking for ages to have a play date with Stan. Wildwood is a really nice little place, the staff were very friendly and helpful and when the weather is nicer we will make a return visit. The pictures I took are on Facebook if you want to have a look.

So what else is new? Well Tom and I are now both proud owners of iphones and we LOVE them! We have been busy adding music, photos and apps - Tom is enjoying being able to watch football on his and I just love being able to get on the internet no matter where I am. A big thumbs up from both of us for the Apple iphone4!!

I have joined a team on UKS, they are called the Tag-a-Long's and are a really lovely and friendly bunch of ladies. I really want to try and do a bit more with my scrapping so joining a team is a perfect way to do this as I can take part in the weekly challenges etc. Below are a few layouts I have completed this week...

Vegas Princess was done using a page kit I bought on our fist visit to Vegas back in
2008. I did my own thing with the pack as the original layout was based around pictures of a little girl. All the papers and embellishments are My Minds Eye Dreamy 2, all I added extra were a couple of brads and some Papermania letters for the word Vegas.

The next layout which I called My Star is of some pictures of Tom taken in Vegas. I cant remember what the paper is but I know I bought it in Vegas. The blue glass pearls were bought in Imagine That and the star shaped brads were taken from my stash, the title is American Crafts Thickers.

The last layout I have to show you is off a picture of me and Tom flying home from Las Vegas. We flew Premium Economy for the first time and it was fantastic, something we hope to be able to do again one day! The papers are all Little Yellow Bicycle and were in a kit I bought from Jackie DaSilva. I popped the menu card and luggage tag from the flight behind the photo.

Thanks for looking and hopefully by the next time I post Blogger will be working properly, its been really slow today and has taken me ages to post!

A Soggy Saturday Post

It started out as a nice day here, in fact it was so nice that Tom and I took Daisy for a nice long walk up by the river where we stopped for a coffee and a muffin before heading home (for a snooze on the sofa) - was awake at 6am this morning and could not get back to sleep so the snooze was very much needed!. Not long after we got home the heavens opened and it has been raining on and off ever since.

Thought you might like to see a few more of layouts that I have completed over the last week or so, all pictures are from this years trip to Las Vegas.

The first one is a very simple, fun layout using just cardstock, 7 gypsies stickers, and a couple of fabric labels & buttons from my stash. The title was done using a foam alphabet I got in the local £1 shop. I picked this title as some people seem to think I have a addiction to shopping, I have no idea why they would think that at all!! LOL

The For Luck layout was done using a Total Papercrafts kit, I adapted the instructions that came with the kit to fit with my photo and I am really pleased with the results. All I added was the title which was done with some American Crafts thickers.

The Border Line layout was done using a kit I bought from a very talented scrapper called Jackie DaSilva (there is a link to her blog on here if you want to have a look). Anyway I totally ignored the instructions that came with this kit and did my own thing and again I am really pleased with how it turned out. Just hope Jackie likes what I did too...

Sorry that the images have not been resized, we have had some pc problems that I finally managed to sort out last night but I now seem to have lost Photoshop....will have to get one of my 'techy' friends at work to sort it out for me.

As always thanks for looking and hope you like the layouts.

The PPoC

Here, as requested are some pictures of the newly painted PPoC. The walls were finally painted last weekend and the majority of them are Blossom White which is a very pale, almost white, hint of pink. The wall that faces my desk is brighter and is called Fairydust Pink. The shelves were all taken down and put back slightly higher than they were before so that the desk area looks brighter and less cluttered. I have also re-arranged where I have my stash so that the cricut is now closer to my work space, hopefully I will now use it more! All that needs to be done now is for me to get/make some canvas's for the walls.

The stash that you can see on my desk is what I bought yesterday, just a few sheets of paper/cardstock, two sets of stamps and some cosmic shimmer mists. I ahev also included a picture of some cards that I have made this weekend using my new stamps, thought I would try something different from the usual cards I make that would feature a magnolia, gorjuss girl etc.

Thanks for looking.....

Another Year Older

Tuesday 3rd August was my 45th birthday although I dont actualy believe I am that age, I still think I am in my late 20's - early 30's!! Yes I know thats extreme wishful thinking on my part but I think we should be allowed to be whatever age we want - LOL!!

Anyway I had a lovely day despite having to go to work and as usual I was throughly spoilt by Tom. I got loads of cards and pressies from my friends and family and amongst my haul of goodies were a new jumper, a radley bag, a jewellery box, earrings, pink champagne and chocolates. The cards and gifts have continued to roll in this week so a BIG thank you to everyone that sent me one, they are all very much appreciated.

I have posted a couple of pics so you can see some of the cards and goodies I received. The box of fairy cakes were from Tom and I can tell you all they were delicious!!

New Month New Post

As today is the 1st of August I thought it was about time that I updated my blog, especially as I have not updated it since June!! So as well as adding a new post I have given myself a blog make over and added a new background. At first I just couldnt get it to look right but I tried and tried and eventually got there, hope you like the new look.

Since the last time I posted Tom and I have been on holiday again. This time we went to Portugal with Michele, Ray and the gang and we had the most wonderful time. The villa was lovely, sun shone, the wine flowed and the laughter came in bucketloads! It was so nice to just sit back and relax, we both wish we had stayed longer than a week. Still there is always next year and the meet up in October will be here before we know it.

Not too much else has been happening really, just getting on with life as usual. This weekend I have been to get my hair cut, thanks to the wonderful John Foster my hair now looks much neater and tidier. Yesterday Tom took me to Ashford to do some birthday shopping!! He bought me a pink jumper from Ralph Lauren and a beautiful mirrored glass jewellery box from Past Times - I will post some pictures later in the week as I havent actually been given the pressies yet (its not officially the birthday until Tuesday although I have claimed this weekend as my 'birthday weekend'). Last night we headed down to South Lambeth Road for some yummy tapas before heading back to Bermondsey Sq for a couple of glasses of wine, it was a lovely way to finish the day.

Anyway I have managed a little bit of scrapping, mostly pictures from this years trip to Las Vegas as thats my current project...have posted a few pics below for you to see..

Thanks for looking.... x x
