Pretty and Pink

Thought I would make a quick post tonight to show you all this pretty, pink exploding box that I have made for a very special young lady by the name of April 'Dolly' Townsend.

April was one of Hayley's bestest friends and I wanted to make her something to keep, a little box containing her favourite April and Hayley pictures, something she could look at to remind her of all the good and fun times they had together. I will be handing the box over on Saturday when we all get together for the Hobbnob Cup. I hope April likes what I have done and that she will keep and treasure it and her memories of our beautiful angel forever.

The butterflies and papers I used on the box layers were printed and cut on my Cricut Imagine. I added loads of pearls and crystals and some wild orchid flowers. I have put a little card in the centre of the top layer so that if she wants, April can write a little something.

I hope, that if Hayley can see what I have done, that she approves. We all love and miss you gorgeous girl, your memory will live on forever. X x

What I have made this weekend

Evening all, hope your all well and that you had a good Bank Holiday weekend. Such a shame about the weather though, wasn't exactly good for going out and about was it?? Luckily Tom and I had no plans, we spent most of the weekend pottering about at home. The highlight was a trip to Ikea to buy an Expedit unit for the living room - now my albums have a proper home. Gotta love Ikea!

I spent a bit of time crafting this weekend, I made a load of cards to go in the raffle at the Charity event we are having in Hayley's memory this coming weekend. I also did a couple of layouts, one of which is below. The picture is of Scarlett and I used Fancy Pants papers and embellishments that I have had for quite a while. I added a few buttons along the bottom and the little alpha are by Adorn-it

I also made a scalloped circle card using my Cricut Imagine (the circles were cut and printed using the Lori's Garden cartridge). The stamped image is Glam Goth by Sweetpea and she has been coloured in using my Copic Ciao pens. Finally I added some Wild Orchid crafts flowers and some pearls from my stash. The flowers have been brushed lightly with glimmer mist to give them a little sparkle. The round sentiment is by Craftwork Cards.

Thanks for looking, more posts to follow soon.

Gotta love Gottacrafts

As a scrapbook'er I love to have a kit to use. Its makes life so much easier when you have papers, card stock and embellishments all co-ordinated for you. I recently subscribed to the Gotta Craft kits and so far I have loved them all. Sandra manages to put together kits using stunning papers that are pleasure to scrap with. There is a link in my side bar to the shop blog and to Sandra's own blog if anyone wants to take a peek. I will also add a link to the shop.....

Two of the layouts I have completed this weekend were done with Gotta Craft kits. The first one is of the royal wedding, I wasn't actually a guest, I took the photos of the tv as I wanted to capture the moment to remember a wonderful part of our history. There is some journalling on the tag behind the top photo.

The second layout is of Daisy and is based on a sketch I found on the internet. The bling swirls were done using my bazzil templates and the flowers were stamped with chalk inks and then cut out. The stamps are from Stampin Up.

The final layout is called Random because the pictures were taken by Tom last year while we were in Las Vegas. One of my friends challenged him to take some random pcitures which he did! The patterned papers and embellishments were all printed and cut on my Cricut Imagine.

Thanks for stopping, if you like what you see please leave me a comment and let me know. X x

Finally Updating

Finally I have sat down and logged into my blog to give you a little update. I didn't realize that it was coming up for nearly 2 months since I last did a post!

So what has been happening with me??

Well I have had a birthday, another year older - boo hiss!! It was actually a really nice birthday this year, I was at work on the big day but I had a couple of days off after to relax and chill out. One of them was spent visiting Ikea and pottering about at home and the other was spent visiting the seaside, Whitstable and Herne Bay to be exact. It was a gorgeous day weather wise, we walked along the seafront in Whitstable before stopping for fish and chips in the Crab and Winkle on the harbor.

After our lunch we headed a little further down the coast to Herne Bay where we sat on the front and had a Mr Whippy ice cream with a flake and sauce - yummy! Herne Bay is somewhere I just love, probably because I have lots of childhood memories of visiting there each year as my parents had a caravan not too far away. I used to go to a roller disco that was held in the Pier Pavillion on a Saturday afternoon. I good quite good at it and I even had my own roller disco boots!!! If I tried to roller skate now I would probably end up on my bum!!

Hope you like the pictures....there are a few more on Facebook if you want to take a look.

I have completed a few layouts over the last couple of weekends so I will come back later with another post showing you what I have done.

Thanks for looking and apologies for a lack of posts. As ever I will try to blog on a more regular basis.
