Another Week is Over

And still not feeling great! Although I am feeling better in myself I now have a slight infection in two of the sites where I have stitches. I have been to see the nurse a couple of times and she has cleaned and dressed the wounds but they are still not healing. I am due to go back tomorrow so if nothing has changed I am going to ask for antibiotics or for a referral back to the hospital, I just want to feel better and get back to normal, I am totally fed up with not being able to get on and do what I want to do - its so sad, I am even upset that I cant do the housework!!

Anyway having to relax means that I managed some time in my craft room yesterday, in the end I actually did three layouts and I have pictures of two of them to share with you today.

The first one is a photo of DH taken when we went Christmas shopping in Oxford Street. I got the idea for the layout from Pinterest (what a wonderful place that is!!). I cant remember what the papers are but the glittered letters are Pink Paislee.

For the second layout I used a picture of Scarlett that I took last year on her seventh birthday. Again the idea for the layout came from Pinterest. The papers and some of the embellies came from a Gotta Craft kit, the rest of the flowers, leaves and brads came from my stash and the bling swirl was done by hand using my Bazzil jewel template. The number 7 is American Crafts.

Thanks for stopping by, hopefully by the time I do my next update I will be some what healthier!

Taking it easy

Well here we are, Sunday again! Its been a bit of a traumatic week for me as I had some minor day surgery done on Wednesday. I wont go into detail on here other than to say it left me feeling a little worse for wear and rather battered and bruised. Today is the first day since the op that I have actually felt somewhere like normal so fingers crossed that means I am now on the mend. Luckily I have had Tom at home to look after me although at times he has been a pest!! LOL

Thought I would share with you a couple of Christmas layouts with you, as is my scrapping style they are both very simple.

The first one is of Daisy and I have used papers and embellies from the December Gottacraft kit which were Echo Park.

The second one is of pictures that were taken on a pre-Christmas trip to Harrods. The papers for this one are 3 Bugs, the buttons are Papermania (I think) and the wording is American Crafts Thickers. I used an EK Success punch to create the scalloped border.

As always thanks for looking, I will be back soon with a few more layouts to share with you.

Thinking of you Hayley

Tomorrow, Monday 9th Jan will be the first anniversary of Hayley's tragic accident, I cant believe that its a year since that awful day. Yesterday would have been her 21st birthday and to celebrate Tom and I travelled down to Hampshire with my sis and Scarlett to spend the evening with Maria, Andy, Peter and Karen et al for a meal. We had a wonderful evening which was full of laughter and I am sure that Hayley was looking down on us and joining in with the fun and games. So in her memory this post is dedicated to her...

Tomorrow night I will go outside and raise a glass to the brightest star in the sky, we all miss you so much gorgeous girl. X x

In my craft room that is..:)

As mentioned in my previous post I made a 'Home Sweet Home' wall hanging/door plaque. I bought the kit to make this ages ago at the Craft Barn. It had been sitting in my desktop tote for months, it had even been taken to a couple of crops but it never managed to see the paper and glue until last weekend. I used Basic Grey Curio papers to cover it, I inked the edges and added some sparkle mod podge and glossy accents to give it a bit of a lift here and there. I have added a couple of pictures of it for you to see.

I also played around with a wooden heart, I painted it with chalk paint and then I ran the edges around an embossing ink pad before adding some glitter embossing powder then I covered the whole thing (both sides) in crackle glaze. When it was dry I added the tassel and beads....not quite sure what I am going to do with it yet, may hang it from my craft tote or I may just hang it from a hook in my room. Either way I am quite happy with the finished item, I think its turned out rather pretty.

Finally I managed one more layout, pictures are of me and my gorgeous niece Scarlett and where taken last Summer. I have used Girls Paperier papers and letters. I sanded the base cardstock and then inked and lifted the edges of the papers a little to give it a slightly distressed look. I used another of the wooden hearts, this time I painted it and gave it a lick of glossy accents before sanding it to fit with the shabby image.

Hope you like what you have seen, if you do please leave me a comment.

Thanks for looking, Jane x x

Welcome January 2012

Hello and Happy New Year.

I cant believe that today is the last day of the Christmas and New Year holidays, back to work tomorrow - boo hoo!! However, I have to say I am looking forward to getting back to a certain sense of normality!

We didn't do much yesterday and today, I mostly pottered about and spent some time in my room, managed a few layouts and a 'Home Sweet Home' wall plaque that I bought ages ago from the Craft Barn. I have photographed a couple of the layouts, will have to add the wall plaque at a later date as the only photo I have of it is on my phone.

The first layout is of me and Tom, picture taken on the terrace of our Spanish holiday apartment. The paper and embellishments are Bo Bunny, the ribbon, diamante hearts, flowers & brads are all from my stash.

The second layout I have to share is also of pictures from Spain, this time of Marbella Old Town. The papers are Crate Paper and they and all the embellishments are from a Gotta Craft kit. Hope Sandra likes what I have done.

Hope everyone has a good return back to work/school/normality and thanks for stopping by.
